Pam Kirschner

Admin Support Coordinator/Office Manager

Biography:

I lived almost all my life in the San Joaquin Valley of Central California. After earning my AA at the local community college, my plans to transfer to a university were detoured when I decided to get married and start a family.  Twenty-five years later, when the youngest of my three sons graduated high school, I was able to resume my educational plans. In 2008 I received a BA in Organizational Leadership, providing bragging rights for my parents who were finally able to declare that ALL of their four daughters had degrees from institutions of higher learning.

Although I have had many jobs in my lifetime, I am most proud of the years spent working in the field of education. I honestly cannot imagine working anywhere besides a college campus, especially Humboldt. When I left my hometown in 2014 to begin my career at HSU, I had no way of knowing how great it would be... the beautiful surroundings; the energy of our amazing students; and the camaraderie of our phenomenal staff have enriched my life and made me a better person.

My job in the Office of Student Life provides opportunity to interact with a delightfully diverse group of individuals. I get to share their successes and I also get to see their struggles. Each student faces unique challenges. My sincere hope is that I can provide understanding, inspiration and guidance as they navigate their road to academic success.

Favorite quote: “Despite all evidence to the contrary, the Universe is unfolding exactly as it should.”

Areas of Interest:

When I’m not serving the students in the Office of Student Life, you might find me walking on the beach or hiking through the Redwoods. Among my interests: traveling, gardening, and entertaining friends but none of these compare to the joy of spending time with new granddaughter!
